    Potty Trained Kids

So today is my first day "back" from maternity leave. While the kids weren't here, one of the boys potty trained (he'll be 2 next month) and dad says he sometimes has to remind him. I said we'll see what happens, but in a group setting I'm thinking he *may* have to start bringing pullups to wear here. So that brings my total of potty trained kids to 3 ( my girl twin, my son, and the other boy) The boy twin is not pt yet, and obviously neither is my newborn.

Anyways, my problem is that my bathroom is not on the main floor, so I have a little potty chair down here in the daycare area. I do not feel comfortable sending the daycare kids upstairs by themself. My son I *could* send by himself, but I'd rather not. But for the little potty chair, there really is not a lot of privacy to the area, so I'm curious what you all would do to make the area more private for the kiddos? Thanks for any suggestions!

Could you put it in a corner somewhere and put a partician divider around it? I have never been a fan of potty chairs out of the bathroom just do to the germ factors. At least it is contained in the bathroom and the sink is right there. Where do you have the children wash their hands. Ours are only allowed to wash their hands in the bathroom and never the kitchen sink. The kitchen sink is only allowed have hands washed in it during food preperation.

Yes, kitchen. I've never been told otherwise. I wish I could have it upstairs but then I have to go up with the child, therefore leaving the other kids alone downstairs.

I would put it in a corner and just let the other children know its the person using the potty private time and they are not allowed over there. In my state we need a potty for each child so I just use my toliet never had a potty for my five boys

I tried to but the ick factor is just too much. Besides, it needs to be dumped into the toilet between uses and sanitized between children...all of which requires that I be out of my main daycare room and in the bathroom (as I cannot do this in the kitchen).

In the end it was easiest for me to just take all the children to the potty. Or sit the older ones down, carry the baby, and go to the potty. Around here I find it's easiest to go on a schedule, every 2 hours. I take all the PT'd children up and they see if they had a surprise. It works best for us and now they only really go during our routine visits to the bathroom.
