    I always blame it on the Regs:

    "Due to Department of Health Guidelines, children may not bring food or drink in the daycare. All meals are provided. Exceptions include children on special diets (doctor's note required) or party foods (please see Provider for details)."

    Or alternately mention possible allergies.

      Hmmm. None of the above. I think. My policy requires all parents to provide a nutritionally complete lunch or use the catering service. I provide the snacks(2) and milk or apple juice with lunch. I encourage healthy snack donations from parents. With that said, we do eating in the designated place in the designated times only. No wandering in eating, no random snacking. The HARDEST part of my policy is getting parents to make lunch complete. I keep extra fruit cups/applesauces and cheese sticks and pb&j fixings on hand in case there's a parental brain fart. The catering service rocks in a majorly awesome way. Love love love them!!!!!
