I take my 12year old niece to school every morning and often pick her up at the end of the day. I was wondering should i ask her mom to enroll her into the daycare since she is technically there for part of the time. Or do you think it would matter she she could just be considered a guest when she is present????

Is A 12 Year Old Too Old For The Daycare?
"God said, ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want him to do.'"
Acts 13:22 -
It depends on your state regulations. I think most states have an age cutoff where they don't count into your numbers anymore.Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!- Flag

Check with your state rgs. in my satate while she would not technicaily count as a day care child (I not have to follow all the reg rules inreguar to any children over the age of 12). However, She would count in the numbers.
PS. I have a 12 year old enrolled in my daycare.- Flag

Are you driving to school anyways or is the trip in just for the 12 year old. It gets really tricky when it comes to family. If it was any other 12 year old of course you would want to be getting paid for it.
When I started I had a 9 year old niece. She has always come over occationally when her mom went to work. I have a daughter that is 2 years older and they are best of friends. When I worked we would switch on and off. Then when I quit working to stay at home with my babies I didn't need her as much, but she invited my daughter over on weekends and took her on fun little trips that I couldn't afford to take my daughter on. When she had another baby I was the daycare provider for the baby, but I never charged my sister for the older child. The older child came before school in the am. My sister did tell me to charge her, but I didn't want to dime and nickle her. The girl was old enough where I didn't need to actally sit and WATCH evey move. She got her self ready for school. The only thing I was out was breakfast, and she would often bring milk, cearle, and fruit. The food she provided more than covered what her child ate.
If you are driving just for her I'd at least charge for gas. If she is counted in your numbers I'd charge. I guess if you feel that you should be paid for it charge.- Flag
