Yep I have had to do that too with some kids.
They get up so early in the morning that they are in need of a little catnap.- Flag

My dck has issues because he's 2 years old and for his entire life, his mother has flopped him from babysitter, to daycare, to a friend watching him at his house. She goes to work and college, so she has different hours different days. Sometimes his mother would pick him up after work, other times a friend would pick him up after their work. Sometimes he'd see his mother that night sometimes he wouldn't see his mother until the next mornign. The boy's problem is that he's never known when or if he will see his mother that night. He's never had any consistancy and he's terrified that he won't see his mother anytime soon. I feel bad for the kid! He spends most of his day crying and yelling "Mommy". I have tried everything to get him to calm down. I really feel bad for him. But his crying is getting to me a bit!!!
I watched him for a short time when he was a baby. He was like this then too. I stopped watching him and suggested that someone come to his house to watch him because the mom worked late hours and I thought it would help him to have a babysitter put him in his own bed at bedtime.
His mom now has a regular day shift job. He just started back with me last week. So he's been here 2 weeks now. His mother has dropped him off every morning and picked him up every afternoon - between 2:30 and 4:30. So he has had consistancy for the past 2 weeks. However, I don't know how often she goes to college at night or how much time he has with mom at night.
Since he has had inconsistancy for so long, I know it will take him a while to realize that his days and drop-off/pick-ups are with mom every day. I hope he realizes this and calms down within a month.
He will calm down if you give him one on one attention - but with 7 kids, I can't be clinging to only him all day! He has moments when he will play with the other children. But it doesn't last long. I just hope he adjusts within a month or so.- Flag

I was just thinking the same thing. All my kids are extra needy today. No one is content to just play. Which ****s because today is the day I wanted a bit of extra time to make my daughter's birthday cake/cupcakes.- Flag

geez...it is a full moon or something?! same here today. i only have 4, but by the sounds of it, you'd think i had 40. the two older ones have been temper tantruming all day, which sets off the two little ones crying.
i need earplugs.- Flag
