    Just a Stage??

So I have a one year old who has been in my care since he was 8 weeks old.. he just started to try to walk and I love him to death..lately though he is not sleeping much and spends a good chunk of the day screaming..not crying but screaming until I pick him up. I can't leave the room without him coming after me screaming. He goes down for a nap screaming and wakes up the same way..he is also not sleeping much at all... mom is also having some of the same issues.. we think its a stage..he has gone through something like this before but not as much screaming.. my question is do I just give in and hold the kid all the time which would be very difficult to do with all the other kids around or just let him scream?? I feel bad for the kid..just really don't know what to do.. I wont term him for this..but it is stressing!

Seperation anxiety starts at 6 months ends at 8 months then they have another bout with it from 12 to 18 months. I would continue with your daily activities and be there for him when he needs you but not give in to the anxiety.

He will figure out that if you go into the kitchen you will come back.

It is a phase! Just hang in there!!

Im going through it to with my 7 month old dcb too!!
Everyday I tell myself " Its just a phase, Its just a phase!"

do not give in. Go about your regular day and do a little tough love with him. No holding, carrying him around, letting him stay up from nap, etc. Keep your routine going. It will just make him worse to get carried every time he screams....you are just training him that crying means he gets what he wants, when he wants it. Keep directing him back to what he is supposed to be doing, playing! If you are getting stressed, find a safe place to let him scream while you and the other kids get a break from him. That is the most responsible thing you can do if the crying is really stressing you out.
