    Info Sheet for Impetigo?

I have a DCK that has impetigo instead of 4 billion bug bites like her parents thought. I can't find a care sheet but I know someone on here has one probably.

CDC says they can come back after lesions are healed OR 24 hours on antibiotics.

It is just viewed as "common"

They do recommend keeping nails well trimmed.

It can live on surfaces for 1-10 days, too.

      Thank you.

She will start antibiotics tonight. They've been saying they were bug bites for weeks and possibly flea bites from my cat (that doesn't seem to have fleas). They were covering the worst of the "bites" with bandaids to prevent scratching so I didn't get a good look at any of the bad ones. My bad. I should have inspected her well before now.

They took her to the doctor today. She showed up with 50 or more new "bites" yesterday after being home for 3 days. Dad didn't mention them to me although each one that seemed to originate here was a topic of discussion, much discussion. So I took some pics and texted him that it was for a baseline for today since he didn't mention that her back was so bad. They called this am and said they were taking her in.

The ONLY good part of being made to feel like I have a dirty flea ridden house for the past few weeks is that in fact I have a house that is so clean that NOONE else has gotten it. That speaks to my level of sanitation I think. I'm quite angry that DCG has suffered for weeks and that I've been blamed instead of actually looking for a real reason.

My bff said to tell them at pickup that I have decided not to exclude her since obviously my house is soo clean that I can prevent any illness for the rest of the children. :: :: Then stick my tongue out and say I told you so.

I possibly have a DCK who has this. Their parent texted me last night to ask if she could bring him Tuesday instead of today due to a possible impetigo skin problem. I googled it quick so I could tell her yay or nay on bringing him tomorrow as I wanted to know if it was contagious, I have an infant here as well. Sooo upon reading the internets and now coming on here for a search I see its something that needs to be treated. I told her that if it is the case then to bring dck after Thanksgiving. I dont want to risk contamination before the holiday as like I said I have a infant here PLUS my DH family is coming into town in two days to spend turkey day with us. This dck always has a certain smell "down there" as well as unkempt finger nails. I always have to wash his hands and nails really good to get the dirt/playdough/boogers out. FUN.

Id hate to send everyone home with an extra gift this Thanksgiving.
