    Note to Self...

do NOT use phrase "it's a piece of cake" while putting breakfast on the table.

    "I like cake!" announced a 2 yo.
"I want the cake, too!" said the same 2 yo upon seeing me set her yogurt, toast, and banana in front of her.
"But...I want the cake..." said the 2 yo as she crumbled into a sad little ball of disappointment and heartbreak.

I tried to explain...but the explanation was lost on my poor sweet dcg.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

Kids take things so literally! Many years ago when I was a teenager, my friend and I babysat over the weekend for a family from church.

The little one was sitting in his high chair and was asking "Wassat?" to EVERYTHING. We were making biscuits and gravy and he was watching the biscuits rise in the oven. My friend was getting tired of telling him what every single thing was over and over....so when he pointed at the biscuits as I took them out of the oven, she just said "guess!".

He ate his breakfast with great gusto and then asked "More guess!"
