More or less a little disappointed. I'm pregnant and about to have our baby. My families have known for 9 months and know that I plan to take an 8wk leave. Everyone has been fine with that.
I have in my contract (which I update and have parents sign every year in Sept.) that there is a minimum of $75.00 /week and in Kindergarten there is a minimum of $45.00/wk which holds the spot as well for release days, etc.
I have a family that I really love working with. I have allowed them to use 4 days for $75.00 (usual requirement is 3 days). I have let them switch hours up here and there. I don't mind, but now they want to send one child to pre-k (and I do an awsome pre-k program here) and wanted a discount off the already discounted price. I said no, not until Kindergarten and now they are probably going to pull her and/or both of thier kids
I just can't afford it. I really need to get my famlies in at $115.00/wk and plan to keep my current families at their current rates just because they have been so awsome to work with. I can't reduce the rate, though for someone due to going to a pre-k program. I have never done that with anyone else either.
As it is, I only make about $30.00-$60.00/wk after expenses are out. I've cut back on everything I can and still operate the kind of business that I want. I have made a business plan, gone through expenditures/profit, and researched the rates for the area through ccrr. $75.00/wk is the BARE minimum I can afford for under school-age.
