    Socks!!!!

I feel like I am constantly searching for socks! The children always take them off and I feel like the house must eat them up
One little boy used to love to put them in my central vac. And when ever I plugged in the vac off they would go.
Also, I feel awful for misplacing socks and I can't send them home sans socks- so I usually end up sending them home in my DS's and they never come back. Maybe the parents feel like I owe them so they just keep DS's socks- maybe I do owe them.
    Ugh socks

If they take their socks off, put them away. It's not that cold out and they'll survive without socks. I had a dcg4 who just never liked the feel for socks. In fact, she didn't wear them in my house all of last winter! She had them there for when we went outside, but she never wore them inside. She's also a warmer child by nature and despite numerous checks, her feet were never even cold!

It's not worth it to search the house for all those socks. Put them away.

Have them take their socks off and put them in their shoes by the front door.

IMHO, Easiest solution is to keep socks in shoes, out of reach, for going home/outdoor time.

Use daycare issue non-slips in the playroom and with a difficult "sock hider"...use cotton tights under clothing instead.
        - Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.

I know what you mean. I always have my kids put their socks into their shoes in their cubby so that I don't have to search for them. It's just something we do from the time they are old enough to understand it, and it works very well.

Good idea! Robeez, would you ask parents to supply?
                  I am thinking yes(?)
It gets pretty chilly here so they can't really go barefoot much longer

I ask them to but if they can't afford them then I find some on Ebay for them. Best time to buy used robeez is in May.

I have a big stock of them in sizes six months to age four. My biggest problem is getting my staff assistant to take them off the kid before they leave. Once they get out of your house you will never get them back.

Okay- I will keep my eye out!
I have a hard time getting things back even clothes that have 'DAYCARE' written in big black sharpie on them... Why on earth would you keep a pair of track pants with daycare written on the back?
Or I get them back months later

I spent all day looking for a sock on Tuesday. I was convinced it had disappeared, and then I found it in the sink with the dishes! Totally soaked of course.

I make slippers for them. Simple fleece slippers. Their shoes and socks come off at door. Mine go on.
