Ok seriously?!? I am sooo NOT trying to be rude but why on earth are you allowing yourself to be put at risk with this kind of parent?

This family is a huge liability! If he has any problems due to his being over medicated you can bet your bottom dollar that it is YOU who is going to be blamed, held accountible and/or the one who is going to take the fall for all of this!!

My advice is to term now. IMMEDIATELY!!! No amount of money is worth this kind of behavior! This mother is basically abusing this child by over medicating him all the time and you need to report this immediately. She is completely disrespecting you and your policies.

I am sorry if this is coming off a bit harsh but really, why are you allowing this to continue?

I am speaking with concern.....I am really worried that this is all going to come back and be put onto you.

I'm waiting for my licensing lady to call back. I'm going to express all of my concerns to her about these meds, and it will be reported.

Is it bad to say that I'm honestly scared of what she'll do to me or my house? She knows we are going on vacation next week. My brother is going to stay here, but with his work schedule he won't be here all the time. I'm scared she's going to freak out and do something bad!

I would be documenting and reporting that as well. I don't know about the police in your area, but in mine if we express a concern to them about somehting like this, they will do "drive bys" and safety checks while we are gone so I would think of letting them know.

I would be writting up a summary of what things have gone on since this mom has enrolled so you have documentation for every single thing that has happened. I would also be calling CPS while waiting for your licensor to call back.

This whole situation makes me really uncomfortable for you.

          ITA ,with Blackcat.

I would not tolerate this for one second longer. I would check the bag IN FRONT OF HER at drop off and if there are ANY meds in there I would hand the bag back to her, tell her that she has continued to disrespect me, the other children in care and that she is putting those children as well as her own at risk and she is terminated effective IMMEDIATELY. No care at all, not even for the day.

You are taking a huge risk at being held liable for the accidental overdose of this child.....if you have the meds on premises there is NO WAY you can prove that YOU did NOT give him meds. It will be your word against hers.

          Terminate and call CPS NOW.

Thanks ladies. My licensing lady said to call CPS and express my concerns to them about next week. She said terming now is a good idea because, like you said, if anything happens, it is her word against mine. This poor little guy has been sleeping since he got here at 8. I'm sure he's on something right now.

I am terming tonight. There's a part of me that's scared for him-not knowing where he will go or what else will happen to him. If she keeps him at home I know that he will be given even more.

If you are concerned about what will happen when you term her, make sure you have a second adult present with you when this goes down.

I was thinking about typing up a term notice and she will see it in his bag when she gets home. At least then she will be off of my property and away from me and the other children.

I'm horrible about using professional wording. Any ideas?

you are doing the right thing. Even if CPS can't do anything too drastic yet you have helped start a history for her. Now if anyone else sees any red flags the state will be able to prove there are deeper problems and get the help for that child he needs. You are doing the right thing. You are protecting the child and yourself.

This " mother" is the reason we have to be so guarded with med policies. I would tell her, sorry NO MED AT DAYCARE. period. Also. You need a dr's explaination letter outlining why a healthy child must be medicated every day for various ailments. The letter must address EVERY MED and each instance for giving it.

                    Dear mom

Due to repeated disregard for the rules and policies of the daycare you are being placed on probation. In the future any medication brought into the daycare will be disposed of. If your child is ill please keep them home. Our facility is only staffed for well child care.

If your Child has a chronic condition that requires maintenance medication please arrange for them to discuss with me the details for administering such medications so I can be sure to do it correctly and provide the highest quality care I am able to.

                    Thank you

                    Polly provider.

You need to tell her face to face.

I would like to echo what most everyone else has said. Term NOW. Don't wait til Friday. If he's been sleeping since 8, thats a long time! Poor kid is probably so doped up.

I do think that his crabby days are him withdrawing from the meds. What a terrible life to live!

Call CPS also, make them aware of the situation. They'll document everything and then if she tries to come back to you with anything, you'll have your bases covered. Also, continue to document yourself.

CPS was called, and they are going to look into it. He is STILL sleeping. It's 11:10. I keep checking on him every couple minutes because I'm so scared.

Definitely terming tonight. I had given her a number of another provider a couple weeks ago because she had no one to watch him when I'm on vacation. I called that provider to give her a heads up. I warned her that this mom will expect her to watch him after I term, since she knows that she has space available. Now I'm worried about this provider because she told me that she's been "trying" everyone. I guess I did my best by warning her.

The kid needs to be drug tested. I would keep a wet diaper of his and quadruple bag and freeze.
