Teach them to never cross the boundary line....
I have walk through baby gates and/or half doors in every single door way of the house but I leave them all open all the time...not a single kid will cross the thresh hold until invited to do so....even my youngest (just over a yr old).
Here's a video explaining how to teach them boundaries

One of my dcbs (the one who needs a nap most of all) has taken to resting his chin in his hands during naptime and just staring at me. Unblinkingly. His eyes follow me all around the room.
Its super unnerving and pretty annoying. Especially since he's going to be a whiny grouch the rest of the day, and our V-day party is in 40 minutes.- Flag

The 15 month old can open baby gates. All of them. 3 different types of closures. Walk through gates are no fun if you have to rig them closed.- Flag

Maybe it’s just me, maybe the kids are being fussier than normal, but I am utterly over it today. First kid got here at 7am and all the others soon after and by 8:15 I was at my breaking point. Had to go i the other room and take a breather for a minute. Used that time to text dcm and let her know that if her child’s behavior didn’t improve in the next two hours, he would need to be picked up. This one kid had every other kid in tears and it took me so long to get everyone, including him calmed down that I literally feel spent and it’s not even lunch time yet. And my husband, who usually comes home from work during lunch to help me and give me a break is out of town this week so I have zero help. Come on 6pm!
Is it Friday yet?- Flag

Naptime isn't over just because you woke up.
Love the "when are you going to turn the lights on" question.- Flag

Today we are supposed to get a big snow storm, and all schools closed last night in anticipation. Wednesday is my lighter day (3 kiddos scheduled) but 2 are teachers kids so they won't be here. My ONE kid has two older SA siblings who will be staying home. They are just *now* deciding what to do with him
I could still be sleeping::
Dcm comes in this morning telling me that dcb has a flaming red diaper rash. He has never had one before since coming to me last July and didn’t have one when he left my house last night at 5:30. I think, we’ll, no big deal, I’ll just apply extra desitin until it clears up. Nope. It’s actually a big deal. She thinks he might even need to see a doctor. She proceeds to tell me that the only reason he has ever had a diaper rash is when he was given dairy products at 4 weeks old before they knew he had an allergy and sort of implies that I must have given him dairy because she is extra careful not to do that at home. Asks what I’ve fed him lately. This is an 8mth old. All of my infants are only fed what the parents send for them. I never provide anything for infants. I don’t even have them near my toddler when I feed her so it isn’t even possible he accidentally ingested something with dairy. I pause a moment, reply that I’ve only given what she provided for him and point out that perhaps the diaper rash has something to do with the loose bowels he’s had since last night caused by starting a new probiotic yesterday morning. She suddenly says oh, I bet you’re right! Really?? You really thought I gave your child a diaper rash because I gave him dairy when I know he has an allergy?? Anyone can get a diaper rash. Not just those with allergies.
SERIOUSLY! I hate the 'it must be daycare's fault'... thought process!- Flag
