    Boys comprehension

I am feeling like little boys don't comprehend to the same level that a little girl does. My dcb's seem like everything goes in one ear and out the other. They get in trouble with the same things over and over. Time out after time out. I talk to them about why they can't do what they did, and what to do instead (all in short sentences as to not lose them). But honestly some days I wonder if little boys don't just have brain damage! ROFL! I am kidding of course, but it has crossed my mind! Anyone else notice this? Or is it just my house?!

Boys do not have brain damage LOL you said that already.

They do develop differently than girls and yes will take longer comprehend certain things.

While knowing this may not make it easier to deal with at least you can know that it is normal.

Boys are absolutely different from girls. They learn differently, they need much more movement than girls and they have a harder time with impulse control. Their little bodies are just busier! I'm speaking in general terms, of course, as all kids are different.

There's a book out there that I love. It talks more about older boys (school age), but you can also see how it applies to the itty bitties as well.

There's also a facebook group out there that is using that forum to share information about boys, including research and how to work with them. I think it's called "Brilliant Boys".
