Do Those Space Heaters Really Work?

I've been throwing around the idea of getting one before winter starts. Last year our gas bill was pretty scary. I've heard that they work well, but do they save money when you have to pay to have it plugged in using electricity?

Could you get a ceiling fan instead? There are a couple brands that now make heating ceiling fans. They are around 250 each but they really do work and are much safer than a space heater and way cheaper than heating the whole house. Plus come summer it is a great way to keep the room cool.

Why didn't I think of that 2 months ago?! We just re-did our entire living room and got a new fan...but didn't think of getting a heated one. Bummer.

can you move that fan to one of the bedrooms and add the heating one to your daycare room?

I have the Eden Pures and LOVE them! I have one upstairs and one down. I heat everything with them except my kids rooms and daycare which are on there own zones.

I figured it is roughly $2.00 a day more for my electric. BUT last year I actually had a credit I used all year for my oil!!

my mom uses one of the cool to touch ones that have a wood cabinet? not sure the brand. But she is very limited in budget and her bird was freezing (amazon parrot, ) she keeps her house furnace on 63 degrees, but puts this in her kitchen for bird. Heats the kitchen and living room the way she has it set. (yes his name is bird) . it keeps it toasty and Im wanting to say added like fifteen bucks to her bill and dropped her gas bill around 65?
