Does anyone here give a sibling discount? How much of a discount do you give?

I allow them to pay the same rate for both kids. If they ask. I say yes. The new rate is ($10) more per week than you pay for first kid. Since you are a current family. I'll charge you the old rate on the new child instead of the new one.- Flag

I give them 10.00 offf the week, which is only about 6 percent off. They understand that its a spot they are filling (sibling or not)- Flag

Nope, a child is a child and they take a space no matter what. I have 3 kids of my own. I would never expect a discount because I have more than 1 child.- Flag

I recently gave a 10% discount to sibling because the mom said, "I know a lot of other dcs give a discount for siblings do you?" So I gave her one.
But I will never again give a sibling discount. It is a spot and now that I have almost a year under my belt I dont have too much trouble filling spots.- Flag

I currently have a a rate for infants-3 yrs, a rate for 4-5yrs, and a rate for 6+ yrs. each one $25.00 less than the previous. Do you all have a rate system based on age as well and then offer the discount on top of the already discounted rate? Or do you have a flat full time rate and flat part time rate regardless of age?- Flag

Nope..no discounts. In Ontario where I live we are only allowed to care for 5 children (not including our own). So I have 5 full time children, all at the same rate. It is a business and each child requires toys, food, learning tools, and my attention and affection. Just because 2 or more may be siblings, it doesn't take away from the amount of care required and work involved. Every parent I speak to with multiple children don't have an issue with that.- Flag
