    How Can I Be Clearer?

    We had a covid positive dck and then I tested positive and it’s been rough. Reopened today. I asked every family - has your child or anyone in the home have or have had any symptoms in the past week or tested positive… everyone said no symptoms. Two texted this morning saying kid has symptoms and has had them since Tuesday so they’re coming today. I’m NO NO NO… one more showed up with an infant covered in snot and a horrible cough: turned them
    away at the door while mom said they didn’t realize I meant they had to tell me… how can that have been clearer?

    the post on our page said ‘please let me know if your child or anyone in the household has any symptoms. Please let us know ASAP if anyone tests positive’…

    dod they need to be two separate posts to be clearer . Im
    tiredcof dealing with families that act like they don’t understand just to try to be sneaky;

    OH THEY UNDERSTAND! Ignorance is bliss for them I call it a power-struggle and they are seeing if they will win.....very frustrating, too!

      Part of My was being sarcastic in my post because I don’t think it’s possible to be more clear

      I gotcha! LOL I went to a Daycare training saturday and usually we are taught about the issues kids have but this time I heard twice that day that 'adults have these issues is why kids have certain issues'......Well I coulda told 'em that years ago. LOL

    The jaded daycare provider in me agrees that they do know and that you are dealing with a power struggle. I know you were being sarcastic in your post but I've given parents a list of symptoms so they can't say they didn't know, and I've added the phrase, "...regardless of what you think may be the cause" So...your kid has a runny nose? It's on the list. Test before you bring him. Your kid is coughing? It's on the list. Test before you bring him. Complaining of aches and pains....you know the drill! Take him home and test before trying to bring him back.

    The wife in me, though, who has just gone through a very frustrating week with a Covid positive husband thinks maybe there's something called "Covid Amnesia and Denial" that is a symptom of this latest strain of Covid. My husband came home feeling terrible a week ago Friday night - had most of the typical symptoms except for loss of taste/smell. I told him it could be Covid and asked him to put a mask on and isolate "just in case" until I could go out and get a test. He looked at me like I had 3 heads. He didn't think it could be that; he thought it was probably a bad cold or flu. He tested positive that night. This past Saturday, I was shocked when he told me he couldn't figure out why he was coughing so much since "coughing isn't part of Covid". What??!! The thing is, he knows better - or should! Hmmm... as soon as I typed that last sentence, it dawned on me that we might have had our own little power struggle going on this past week. The frustration is real!

      You cracked me up about dealing with your own power struggle at home. I stayed away from my family and isolate the full 10 days. I missed all 3 of their school’s open houses and my DDs cross country meet. I was responsible ..: and then these parents come in acting like I’m being unreasonable. It makes me want to scream

      Oh, I know! It really stinks that you've had to miss those events for your own family because you're trying to be responsible. You're not being unreasonable. You know how bad this virus can get based on your experience with your husband. Stick to your guns. I hope you feel better soon.

    We had an employee test positive for covid about a week and a half 2 weeks ago and during her isolation, the owner was doing the schedule for last week and texted said employee to ask if she was coming back to work because her isolation was ending soon through text message and she texted back "no" that she was quitting. She pretty much left us high & dry

      I say/do very similar things regarding sickness with parents and this crew I have now like what y'all are discussing just don't HEAR; dcb4 laid around all day but didn't run a temp or cough or anything BUT when I shared this with dcm at pickup, she said 'oh, his dad is home too with the same symptoms'. Whether it's covid, flu, strep, hfm or whatever JUST FOLLOW THE RULES!!!! Just don't understand WHY that is so hard.....but the school systems are having the same problems so that tells me IT IS A GENERATIONAL PROBLEM......across the board, across the county, across the state, across the world.......it is what it is!
