    Our New Chat/Forum

I have finally been able to bring the forum from 2007 and all its knowledgebase to this new format which is mobile-ready. That's 16 years of invaluable content that is available at your fingertips.
Let me know how we can make this "CHAT" room better. As you can see, the new address is chat.daycare.com, so its out with the old and in with the new. I hope this chat room can go another 16 years.

Okay, this is a process. Some of you saw Traveler.com today when using the chat.daycare.com address. I was moving the CHAT to its own server from the Traveler server ,which is where it was originally constructed. The CHAT address now should be propagating over the next 24 hours so most of you now will be seeing the website in its final setting. I am still converting over smileys and images. If anyone notices anything that needs fixing let me know here or in PM.

Also, this new format is very interchangeable. I can move sections around on the page or add other functions to any page. Let me know if any you have suggestion that would make the pages more desirable.

It will take a couple weeks for all of the content here to be indexed by the search engines. That should bring in a lot of new traffic a visitors.

It's taking me a little while to get going on this particular forum; but you are right, this forum has so MUCH MORE in terms of discussions, personally and professionally.

I hope the conversations pick up like old times; makes me miss some of those that didn't follow to the new forum.

Also, it's kind of neat to look back at my own thoughts during the old forum time-frame........I'm sure we have all evolved in some sort of way over the past few years.....

I miss being able to comment vs quoting, I really liked that feature.

You can quote here also. I like the new function where you can use the comment option to start a conversation within any of the posts.

Yeah, I just really liked the comment feature. Quoting causes a lot of scrolling whereas commenting did not.

Does any member here subscribe to a post? Does it work? How does it notify, by PM or email?

Oh good, so it was working on the other forum. I may subscribe to this post to see if itโ€™s working here also.

Hmmm..โ€ฆ I hated the comment feature. Too confusing to follow the conversations and the little sun conversations embedded in a post. I much prefer this structure.

Interesting that you have 20,000 posts here but your influence meter is 50%. Youโ€™d better get on that. You need another 20,000.

This is Annalee and I was working on my settings but obviously didn't know my password and I'm now locked out. when I hit the forgot password, I'm still locked out. Will I be able to try again in a little while or what should I do? Thanks!

It should reset after 15 minutes. I will send you a new password vis your email so you an get into your account. Then you can change the password again.

I got in with the password you sent me but it says it doesn't recognize my email address when I try to reset my password thru my account settings?? Probably just me but I'm locked out again??

Well thatโ€™s not good. Can you send me the information you want for your account?

My username is Annalee I think but I need a password to get in. It looked like it might want me to use my email as username?? This time, I will keep the password you send me and stop trying to change it.

The old forum depended mostly on TAGS for search because the old search function was not that good. It looks like the updated search is pretty good. Has anyone used it and got better results?

Okay, I think I solved the COMMENTS issue. It was as I thought. Comments was never a function of the original forum from 2007 so the update set a default of NO. I changed it to yes.
