    Night Time Charges?

I have a parent who I talked to who called bc she is wanting to start back to school but she may not do that until the spring. There is a class she needs to take beforehand that is only a week for 5 nights nearby (like 5 minutes down the road from me) and was wondering what I should charge her per night? The class is from 5-9 and I am assuming she would drop off shortly before and pick up right after as far as total time needed, for a 2.5yr old girl.

My rates currently are $30 day for drop in care, $85 week part time and $140 for full time. (I am considering dropping the full time rate and possibly the pt rate too in order to get some children started until I am running for a good while and have a community following).

She wants to do that week and also wants to meet this week with her hubby to see about her girl starting as pt so she would have a regular spot in case she does start back to school soon and so that she can be socialized around other kids and around someone besides dcm and dcd...so good news is I may have an actual regular kid even if she is part time!

What should I tell mom as far as the charges for that week while she takes that class?

Do you have dcks in the evening now or would this be outside your normal operating hours? If you aren't normally open at this time, I would definitely charge more for this child.

If mom does decide to enrolls her P/T, then I would use that as my base and add a percentage on for the evening care. If not I would use your drop in daily rate x5 and add a percentage onto that.

Thanks all, I do not have the dcg now, she is a potential for pt care but mom would just need the care that week for a class and she would most likely start pt after that unless dcm brings her for a day to do a trial just to see how she does prior. It may only be a couple nights since she may have a friend come to town to handle part of the week. She really feels bad and doesnt want to have me doing the whole week of nights.

From my convo with mom dcg is prolly not going to do that great w seperation and has been spoiled rotten by the sounds of it so we will see
