I am interviewing the Assistant for my daycare since I recently got large day care license. Today I interviewed a lady and she has 3 years of experience working with children. But she has a child aged 11 years who will be coming to my daycare with her. I already have 14 kids and would like to know is that boy will be counted towards my limit? Someone please help me. Thank you.

It would depend on which state you're in. It would for us. I think it's till they're 14 before they wouldn't count anymore for us. Which state are you in? I could try to find out...- Flag

It sounds like the assistant's child wouldn't count in the ratio because he's over 10 years old:
For a Large Family Child Care Home, the maximum number of children cared for
when there is an assistant provider in the home, including children under age 10
who live in the home, and the assistant provider’s children under age 10, is either:
• Twelve children, no more than four of whom may be infants, or
• Up to 14 children when one child is at least six years of age and one child is
enrolled in and attending kindergarten or elementary school, and no more than
three infants are in care. Parent notification and property owner consent must be
on file.
