    Pet Expenses

Can I record Pet expenses - like I got Rabies injection for my dog and paid for license too. Where can record in MMK?

I was told no. Because rabies and license is something you need regardless of whether or not you are licensed as a daycare.

For example, your neighbor also DOES need to license/rabies his dog/cat.

Pets are not a business expense.
      - Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.

In 25 years of helping providers with IRS audits I've never won a case involving deductions for a dog or cat. If you are required to have rabies shots even if you were not a family child care provider, then you can't deduct the cost. You could deduct the cost of birds, fish, etc. if you use them to help educate the children in your program. See my article on this: http://www.tomcopelandblog.com/2010/...eductible.html
