It might vary from state to state, but in Iowa, no. You as a parent are responsible for feeding your own child when he/she is in your care. I wasn't sure about this, and since my child technically "took" one of my spots until he started school, I asked my tax advisor. The answer was no.Comment

No, you can never deduct meals eaten by your own children. This is true whether or not your child is being reimbursed by the Food Program.Comment
