    Space %

To count a room as used 100% for your business you can never use the space for personal purposes during the year. Not even once.
If you use a room 2-3 times a week or more for your business then you can count that room as being regularly used for business.

        Tom

Tom... so I have a DESIGNATED playroom ( family room ) only used for DC also
1 bedroom set up as nursery where the kids sleep. Can I claim 100% on those 2 rooms? then on the rest of the spaces, kitchen, dining, bathrooms 50-50?

          Space

No. Space in a room is either claimed as 100% business use or regular business use (not 50-50). So, you have two rooms that are 100% business use and the rest of the rooms probably regular use. There is a special formula to follow when you have both kinds of rooms to determine your Time-Space %.
I wrote an article explaining how to do this calculation: http://www.tomcopelandblog.com/2011/...-use-rule.html
