    Storage Unit?

    We have an off site storage unit that we pay monthly rent on. About 1/2 of the stuff stored in it is stuff for my business that I only use occassionally. Things like extra folding chairs that are used for my annual daycare cookout and my annual daycare holiday dinner, baby toys that I don't want to get rid of in case I start accepting babies again, etc. The other half is family/personal stuff. I'm pretty sure I can use 1/2 of the montly rent on my business expenses, right? And if so, where do I list it under?

    Storage Unit

    I'd take pictures of the storage unit so you can see what's in there. If you are using half of it for business purposes, you can deduct half the cost of the rent. Claim it on Schedule C, line 20 rent.
