Got Married & Opened Preschool-Should I File Jointly?

I am attempting to do our taxes. I opened my in home preschool last fall and got married last summer. We have 2 kids. I made $5500 from my in home preschool, $22,000 from teaching last spring, and husband made $42,000. I am trying to figure out if it is more advantageous for us to file jointly or seperately. Should I claim the kids, should he, or should we each claim a kid? I appreciate any help! Thanks

sorry, I am not sure as to the answers, but I seen no one responded so I hope Tom or someone who is familiar with this can help you out.

    (I am in Canada)
My husband and I file separately, so he gets to claim me as a dependant and all 3 of our children. It benefits him, because he would otherwise end up owing money.

      File Jointly

In almost every case you will be better off filing jointly. You can always run the numbers to see how it comes out doing it both ways, but filing jointly will be the best way to go.
