    Tom: Bills in husbands name

I just had a terrible thought...

Our mortgage is in my husbands name only ( I didnt want to be responsible for it if he ever left etc etc) however my name is on the deed, as so owner.

All the utilities are in his name, gas & electric, garbage, water, etc etc.

    We file joint, married.

So am I still able to claim all these deductions even though these bills are in his name? It's my business done out of our home, that we both help pay for, so would this matter??

    Married, filing jointly

Once you are married, you can deduct all house expenses even though the mortgage or any bills are in his name only. So, breath a sigh of relief that you are married!
