Tom, I know we can not claim cell phone bills, but can we claim if we buy a new cell phone? And where do I put it if I can?

Cell phones
You can always deduct the cost of a cell phone - whether or not it represents the first phone line into your home. (You can't deduct the monthly fee for the first phone line into your home.) So, if you buy a new cell phone you can deduct it. I would put it on Schedule C, line 18 Office expenses.

Well, I do claim on my cell phone because I use my cell phone for business only. If IRS audited me but they cannot complained about that because I am deaf myself that I only use text from my daycare parents. We have another cell phone from my husband's that we are using for any personal not business related. We have two lines into one bill but we use 1/2 of it for business on my claim, not my husband's cell phone.- Flag

Cell phones
Since you have another personal phone line you can deduct the business portion of the cell phone you use for your business.- Flag

So what if we have 4 cell phones in the family, and I use my husbands phone number as our main "home phone number" on documents etc, does that mean I can still deduct part of my cell phone even though I do not use for 100% business?- Flag

Cell phones
You don't have to use a cell phone 100% for your business to be able to deduct the business portion as a business expense. For your husband's cell phone to be the main phone line the number listed when you fill out various forms with stores, tax return, etc.
