I use my piano daily in my daycare to play songs for the kids to sing to and they are allowed to play around on it. I don't teach them formal lessons, but we talk about high/low pitches, fast/slow, loud/soft....etc. It's a great tool! This year I needed it tuned and some keys repaired. Can I claim this? Where would I put this as an expense?

Yes of course! If you use it outside of daycare hours, you’d use your time-space percentage. If you use it exclusively for daycare then you can deduct the full cost. As for which line to use, maybe others can speak to that.- Flag

Piano
Correct. Put this under Other expenses on Schedule C. You can call it whatever you want, perhaps, "Household Items."- Flag
