Question for Tom

Tom, I have another question. If I decide to hire someone for only 1 hour, do I have to pay all the tax stuff like employment etc.? You go me thinking on transporting the children and if I could just hire someone for 1 hour a day. Advice please.

Also I got my books yesterday! I am so glad i ordered them! I flipped through them and was amazed at the things I never knew a daycare could claim. I went through all my reciepts today and place them in seperate envelopes and will be working on them for the next couple of weeks. I am sure I will ask several questions

If you hire someone to help you care for children you need to treat this person as an employee, regardless of how little you pay the person. So, you would have to withhold social security/medicare taxes. Tom
