    Help Please Tom? Clergy Question!

My husband has been employed by our church as a pastor for 10 years. This year he completed his goal of becooming ordained, which means that part of his income is considered housing allowance (30% i think). Can we do this and do the daycare write offs too? I haven't looked at how it's done yet, but want to make sure we are allowed to do both, and be sure we're not "asking" for an audit!
Thank you so much for ALL your help!

    Clergy

There are special rules for clergy claiming the housing allowance and deducting housing expenses. See IRS Publication 517. Your situation is complex enough that you should seek advice from a tax professional.
