I enrolled two infants late last year and charged a deposit equal to their first month's care. Care didn't start until the end of January this year. I know I declare the income for 2014, but can the parents claim that as a child care expense in 2014 since care didn't happen until 2015?

I assume they can, but I wanted to check just in case I'm wrong.
