Deducting own Childs Food on Taxes

I am so confused about the food program and claiming it on taxes. I know it goes in as income, but I don't know how to do that when I was reimbursed for meals I gave to my own child during daycare hours. For example, if the 1099 states $4000, it includes meals served to my son. If I'm not suppose to be taxed on food served to him,am I suppose to tally up all his meals, and deduct the standard rate amount from the $4000 food reimbursement? So if it turns out his share came out to $300 dollars, am I suppose to deduct this from income? And secondly, how about the extra snacks and meals that weren't covered by the food program; am I still deducting them because he ate them with the daycare? This is my first full year doing daycare and I'm really nervous about doing my own taxes. I have to, however, because I can't find anyone local who has any idea how to do daycare taxes. Thank you all for your help.

You cannot deduct the cost of any food served to your own children and the reimbursements you get for your own children is not income. So, in your example, report $3,700 as income. You can also deduct any meals/snacks served to the day care children (not your own) that were not reimbursed by the Food Program.

Thank you so much Tom. Now I understand it! So, I CAN NOT claim my own child's extra meals. Also, do I still put the full $4000 from the 1099 amount as added income but then under daycare expenses deduct my son's share ($300). Thank you so much for all your help

Yes, that's a good way to do it.
