    Deductions for daycare center employees

I work in a center, so I'm not sure what expenses I can deduct when I do my taxes. Hers are some work related items I purchased this year:
Clothing - pants and tops , in required colors
Shoes - required white tennis shoes
Santa hat - for Christmas , not required but recommended. Wore it at work .

I also did some required training at home . It was 2 hours of training and I have a certificate . I have a few more hours I need to catch up on, should I finish it a before Thursday and can I somehow claim it ?
I normally take standard deductions every year , for money to charities and items donated to good will, salvation army and such .
Would I need to file differently this year if I want to deduct the cost of the work clothes ?
Can I also deduct the cost of having my work others altered ?
    Thanks !

If your employer is not reimbursing you for expenses associated with your work, the only way you can deduct these expenses is as an "unreimbursed employee expense" on Schedule A as an itemized deduction. You must have a lot of such expenses before you will be able to deduct any of these expenses. Most employees in your situation aren't able to deduct any of these expenses.
