We have a pellet stove in the daycare/playroom. It's not exclusively daycare, so should I put the cost of the pellets, fire starter gel & utility lighters under Utilities or Household Items? Or does it matter?

Claim this as a utility expense or as a household expense. It doesn't matter what you call expenses, since they get added together on the tax return.
