    Question for Tom

    Hi Tom,

This goes along with the repair & maintenance question. We had to have a retaining wall redone for the daycare area. It would have been fine for us, but not safe for daycare, and it is in a daycare-only used area.

    Do I deduct this as a time-share, or as a 100% deduction?

    TIA

It could be considered as a 100% business expense. However, a retaining wall is probably going to be considered as landscaping, which presents a special problem. See my article on this: http://www.tomcopelandblog.com/2014/...eductible.html
