    Lost a Receipt for Carpet

Our city(almost the entire thing) flooded this summer and as a result i had to replace the two pieces of carpet I had put down there only months before. I misplaced the receipt. Could I use the amount from my bank account info because I know where we bought it and when? It was the only thing bought on the receipt, well and supplies for it.

You should be able to call the company and get a duplicate copy of the receipt. I'm afraid to try doing anything without a receipt because it would be my luck to get audited and not have something

You think without a transaction number? It is a bigbox home improvment store.

If you can't get the receipt from the store, do you have a picture showing the carpet before it was destroyed, or a picture of it destroyed? Look up the carpet in the company's online catalog and print it out. You'll be fine.

Did you pay with a card? If you did, it should be no problem for them to give you a duplicate receipt. We have had to do that a few times in the past.

I believe I do on my computer. I know I have before and after pics of the playroom before it flooded(done) and after(redone). Thank you. I will see about getting a duplicate.

They should be able to track your order down. I know at a lot of the bigger stores, they can do that. It's worth a try.
