Repairs and Maintenance

I have a question on a repair I had made after going out of business in 2012. I closed my daycare doors as of October 17th 2012 but my septic system needed to be pumped December 15th 2012. Can I include this in the totals since the bathroom was obviously used in my daycare, or not since I was already out of business?

Unfortunately, you cannot deduct this expense because you incurred it after you closed your business.

Those providers who are thinking about going out of business should consider doing repairs or home improvements while still in business.
