First Time Poster/First Time Tax Payer Of Home Daycare

I watch one little girl. She is the daughter of one of my husbands coworkers (they are teachers) and I started watching her in January of this year. I did not watch her all summer and then started back when the school year began this year. I made less than 10,000 dollars. I have not paid any quarterly taxes so I may have a fee with that? My husband makes just above 50,000 a year. That is not what he brings home, so with withholdings he brings in less than that. Last year with our daughter as a dependent we got back just over 2,000 dollars.

Is there any way to estimate what I may owe when I go to file. We should file jointly still right? I have not yet taken into consideration deductions (I am unlicensed if that matters.) Do we still have a chance at getting any sort of refund back?

It's hard to know if you will owe any taxes or get a refund. If you are legally unlicensed you can still claim house expenses and other deductions. If you file your taxes by January 15th you can avoid any penalty for the 4th quarter of 2012. You should file jointly.
