EIN Number??? Please help!

Hi I'm new to this website I have been babysitting for over 5 years to 3 different families. I recently moved from city to a small town. Trying to became licensed I found out my HOA will not give me a letter of approval and my town will not give me a business license with out a letter of approval so my question is: is it possible to get an EIN number with out being register or licensed??? So that I don't have to give out my SSN at the end of the year!?!?

Sure, the 2 things aren't related at all. I called the IRS (I think you can do it online). Answer a few questions and they give you a number. The IRS doesn't care if you are registered or not, just that you are a legitimate business.
