Am I Being Audited ?

So this was our first year doing taxes with the daycare, of course we thought we would do them ourselves with turbo tax. But the thing is we had a lot of big thing happen in 2011. We started our daycare, and we finalized our son's adoption. So that was two really big things on our taxes. Well they sent us half the refund and said they was holding the rest till they looked at our return more. But asked nothing of us ?

So am I being audited ? Or is just because there was so many changes they are just taking their time ? I really have no idea what to do, I guess I will just wait :\

chances are they are looking at the adoption credit. and proof They may ask for proof.

ds was delayed also he is custodial parent but not biological and now foster paretn of the 2 kids.. anyway they delayed the refund until they had confirmation of his being the childrens foster parent.

Probably the adoption credit. Everyone I know(I am a foster parent, and part of a support group) that has used the adoption credit in the last couple years has had their refund split up like that, but only a few have gotten ****ed into paperwork hell. Mostly the parents adopting sib groups & waiting on $50K+ refunds.

Ok, I was figuring one of the two things, cause it is alot of changes in a year. I had to send my adoption decree paperwork, but they must just be looking into everything. Thanks guys !!
