Another Cell Phone And Taxes Question...

i bought a new iphone last july. i also have a landline in my house....cell phone is just my extra. i know i can claim a portion of the cell phone monthly bill...but can i claim the actual purchase price of the cell phone? ($250+) and if so, where do i add that? it would need to be depreciated? what kind of depreciation for it? i use minute menu but i'm not seeing what i need to do. thanks for your help!

    Cell phone

You can deduct the cost of the cell phone using your time-space % or a higher percent if you can show the actual business use. Use the 100% bonus depreciation rule and claim this on Form 4562, line 14.

is that 100% bonus depreciation rule a good thing i should use on all my bigger purchases for the year? i also had a camera/printer bundle i bought too, and i'm planning on using that as a write off also.

          bonus depreciation

Yes, you can use the 100% bonus depreciation rule for all items you bought new that cost more than $100 except for home improvements and the home.
