How Much 'After Hours' Do You Average Per Day?

How much time do you spend when children aren't in care on average? I haven't been paying to close attention since I was afraid I'd be putting too much.

Right now I spend about 8-10 hours a week on daycare after the kids are gone. Is this the norm, high or low?

I could actually do 2-3 hours a night then another 1-2 hours in the morning before the kids get here!

That is why I asked how many hours a day we are allowed to claim for prepping and cleaning. For some reason I am thinking we are only allowed to claim 1 hour a day but hoping I am wrong.

I'm hoping you are wrong too. I do all my own cirriculum (I think you do too) and that takes tons of time.

I get to work around 6:40 a.m. and leave around 5:45 p.m. Monday through Friday.

I do EVERYTHING (with the exception of shopping/banking) within those hours.

If I am not at daycare then I am not doing anything daycare related.

          Hours worked

In a national survey done years ago, the average number of hours providers worked after the children were gone was 13.9 hours per week.
