Time Spent In Home Working (W/O Kids)

How much do you guys claim in this area? I feel like there's so many times I work on daycare stuff that I don't realize it and record it..but I don't want to claim an atrocious number of hours.

I actually try to do as much as I can outside of kid hours. When the kid nap.....I take a long break and do whatever cleaning and paperwork after kids leave. I do clean the kitchen....but that's it. I do some of the cooking before kids arrive or sometimes after they leave for the next day. This helps to keep me refreshed to have that break during the day and isn't bad on my T/S% as well!

        hours worked

According to a national study, providers work an average of 13.9 hours per week on business activities when children are not present. That's 8% of the year.

I have my taxes done at our local H&R block my tax preparer always ask my hours of operation. Should I tell her the hours the kids are there or should I include the times after hours I prepare for the daycare. I always have my deductables already t/s off my categories -cleaning supp.-toys-utilities for example all she has to do is put the #s in the computer where they go. Does the hrs in operation even matter since I already have done the percent off. Sorry if this is confusing.

The hours you work after the hours children are present, help determine what your time-space % will be. This will then affect many household expenses. So, they do matter - a lot.
