    Bottled Water and Vet

I know I'm over thinking this, but it's starting to blur.

Your book says bottled water given to the kids can be a household deduction. This wouldn't fall under the standard meals? I give water outside of meals and snacks in their sippy cups.

Also, what about the bills for our pets rabies shots and exams? I wouldn't deduct the bills for when they are sick, but since they are required to have rabies shots, would they be deductible under household?

    Thanks!

Over the last tax season we have had a LOT of questions regarding what can be a deduction. I think Tom Copeland has a book dedicated to this topic. Is that the book you are referring to? You can do a TAG search under the word "deduction" and can see hundreds of related threads. We tagged most of them last year.

Also, you can join Tom Copeland, in our Tax webinar next month, and ask specific questions. Here is the webinar information: https://www.daycare.com/forum/announcement.php?f=2

If you only served bottled water as part of a meal or snack, you wouldn't deduct it, because it's being counted as part of the standard meal allowance. Since you do use the water outside of meals, deduct the times-space % of the cost of the water served outside of meals. I assume your family uses the bottled water as well.
If your town requires all pet owners to have rabies shots then you can't deduct the cost. Don't deduct the cost of exams either.
