Newspaper deduction
I would not try to deduct a local newspaper as a business expense, despite the fact that you use it for coupons, etc. This is because it's primarily personal use and I've not had luck deducting it in IRS audits. I wouldn't even try to deduct part of the cost because the IRS will likely consider it too personal in nature.- Flag

Could you maybe deduct it if you the subscription comes in your business name? Also, I was told it was ok to deduct since I use it to find out the names of the new borns from our hospital and I send them a card of congratulations from my daycare.
Now I'm wondering if I need to be concerned about that deduction.- Flag

newspaper deduction
I understand why you would think you could deduct the newspaper. I'm saying that in my experience with IRS audits, I think it would be a tough sell to get it accepted as a deduction.- Flag
