Designing Your Own Curriculum - Subject Areas?

Or whatever you want to call them (domains, etc).

Which ones do you make sure to work into your curriculum, and with what frequency--do you have a different gross motor skill/activity every day, or one a week, or...?
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

Within whatever "theme" we have for the week:

      Daily we work on:
Language/Literacy - is probably the largest component of my curriculum. Reading books. Expanding vocabulary, rhyming, opposites, etc.

ABCs- depending on age - letter recognition, handwriting (I use Handwriting Without Tears), phonics, pre-reading activities, etc

123s - depending on age - pre-math, number recognition, one-to-one correspondence, counting, patterning, sets, adding/subtracting, estimating, etc.

Color of the Month Activity - often done thru art

      Free Art Activity

      Craft Activity

      Music Time

Gross Motor - focus changes weekly

Fine Motor - focus changes monthly (I use Handy Learning)

Weekly We Have at Least One Component in:
      Science/Nature

My World - Community, Social Studies

      Kitchen Creation

      Hope that helps
