    Montessori-Style?

Does anyone use the Montessori-style curriculum for their daycare? I am transitioning over to that form and wanted some ideas
    Thanks!
ps. I do need to take some courses and training in order to attain the right credentials, but know a little bit about what's involved.

Working on it, hoping for it, moving toward it. Not there quite yet, though.

Counting Coconuts is a blog that I rely heavily on for ideas, though. It might help some of you!
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

Oh thank you for that blog link!! It's exactly what I've been looking for! I don't do Montessori but she does influence me greatly. I love her and I love the Open Classroom approach of learning by doing as well as a lot from the book Raising Lifelong Learners.

            Hello All,

I have a in home day care and have been putting together my own curriculum and found the "montessori" way by mistake. I had some questions regarding my Space unit and was directed to "Counting Coconuts" btw it is an amazing blog!! So now I'm hooked. I am wanting to make a transition over to the mont way... I know it will be a very slow process but I am very excited.

I do have a question...the one child I have now has never been exposed to this style of learning. Has anyone made the change and how did the children respond? I am worried that it will be hard on him. I have him for 8-10 hrs per day and when we are not doing carpet and table time he is use to free play.

Sorry this is sooo long and I am still very new so I donk know all the ways to shorten some of the words.

            Thanks!

I love that blog!!!!!!! I use ideas from her but not necessarily just montessori learning. I do mostly traditional preschool teaching but all my kids enjoy it tremendously but will add a new idea here and there once in awhile.
