    ABC's of the Garden

I'm trying to get my curriculum planned for next year. I'm currently working on a garden theme. ABC's of the garden. A is for Apple, B is for beans, C is for Carrots, etc. I'm stuck on the following letters:
    I
    J
    N
    Q
    U
    X
    Y
I can't think of anything for these letters - garden related.

Got any ideas for these letters?

I'd like to get packet of seeds for several of these so the children can see the photos on the package as well as see what the seeds look like. We can compare size, color, texture, shape, count the seeds, etc.

I'd like to do a letter or 2 a day, to make this theme for one month.

    Thanks for the help!

I LOVE gardening and get the kids involved. We start our seeds indoors and last year we started them in clear cd cases that I was able to sticky tack to the windows. The kids could see each tiny change, from the cracked shell to the roots emerging, and when the stem started to form we transferred them to egg shells. Such a fun curriculum!

Please, tell me more about how you start seeds in cd cases...
Do you add water or soil?

Use a recycled CD case to make a mini greenhouse and observe seedlings as they develop.
