My daycare kids recently "adopted" a little girl from Nicaragua. We will be sending her letters, drawings, and gifts throughout the year. They are very excited about helping someone else and learning about how they live.

I'm a little hesitant to take on that kind of commitment with my current group of dc families.

We just started working on Operation Christmas Child through samaritanspurse.org. We'll be filling shoe boxes with Christmas gifts to be sent to children in need.

Please let me know if you actually get any correspondence, and what your experience is in general. I have always wanted to do this with my group, but am afraid the money won't actually be used the way it's intended.
