    Scholastic?

I am signed up for Scholastic, but rarely find any good deals. I usually buy from thrift stores and garage sales, special books from barnes & nobles.

What deals is everyone seeing at Scholastic? What am I missing?

Every month the flyers have $1 books and cool sets/libraries as well as themed books based on month, season and holiday.
Most their books are $5 and under. Hardcover is a bit more.
I get 3 or 4 different flyer catalogs each month. Honeybee, Firefly and See Saw. Sometimes a seasonal catalog too

I've also bought manipulatives and classroom stuff using points earned from monthly orders.

      I love Scholastic!

Has anyone bought from Books Are Fun? I used to years ago, they had unique things, books, games, all kinds of stuff that made wonderful gifts. They're sold at places like hospitals or high schools, places that want to host the sales. I think you can buy their things online too but need some kind of an identifying host number.
Another place, if you're buying for gifts, is TJMaxx. Prices aren't bad at all and selection is usually pretty good.

Scholastic is my favorite place to buy books. Sometimes I go to the yard sales to get cheaper books.

I just registered under teacher. Do they have anything for babies and toddlers? The youngest category was pre k. How do I get the catalogs mailed to me? Are these the ones you can hand out to parents?

Yes, you give out flyers to families.

They have one for littles called Honey Bee (IIRC)

They have several different Early Childhood flyers/catalogs for younger kids but the site off down until August 1st in preparation for the upcoming school year.

Each month you will get a stack of catalog flyers you can hand out to your parents. They can also shop on-line with your class code and your program will earn points.

You can order from each catalog for up to 3 months I believe so that makes it nice.

I have parents either order and pay on-line or I have them give me check/cash and I order as one big classroom order. I don't care which method they use.

I buy from Abebooks.com. I can find new as well as gently used books for bargain rates.

I buy pre-loved books from Facebook pages. I can always find some good selections but the problem with it is that it's a first come first serve basis.

I usually shop for books at Barnes and Noble or order from their website. I also have an iPad mini and download a lot of books from iBooks.

I find a lot of books for my classroom at places like Walmart and Target too.

I'm going to have to check out Scholastic. I ordered books from them when I was a kid.
