    Parent Gifts

I am always looking for new ideas for the dck's presents for their parents. I've done handprint everything LOL. The problem is, my kids are so young that they need alot of help making anything. My youngest is 16 mo and oldest is 3 yrs. Any ideas? What are you guys doing for Christmas presents from the kids?

How about a picture frame? The 3 year old can certainly handle glueing things around a popsicle stick frame. You will need to help the 15 month old more obviously, but I think it's a nice gift. Take nice pics of the kids, stick them in and there you go.

When my own kiddos were little, they always made an ornament for the tree. Sometimes in preschool, some times in Sunday school, I don't always remember where but I have every single one of those ornaments and they are VERY important keepsakes to me.

I especially love the ones they made when they were too little to really understand how to cut, glue or shape things the "right" way. As I look at each ornament I can see how much they grew from the last year and I love it!!!

What do some of the ornaments look like BC?

I actually did some picture frames a couple of years ago and that was a big hit. Put alot of the peel and stick gems on them. They were very pretty!

Let's see if I can remember....

One is a small wreath (about 4 inches) with green tissue paper stuck on it and a small photo of my kid in the center.

One is a reindeer made from a clothes pin

One is a glass bulb ornament with paint inside

One is a candy cane made from beads on a pipe cleaner

One is snowflake made from cardboard with white tissue paper and glitter on it.

One is a styrofoam ball with fabric cut into it in a patchwork pattern

One is a paper mache egg with a side cut out and a diorama inside

One is a fabric stocking with the seams sewn with yarn and their name on it in gold glitter

One is a sled made from popsicle sticks and painted by the kids

One is a snowman made from pom-poms stcked on each other

One is a wooden church shape with a photo of my child in the cut out of the church doors

That's all I can remember right off hand..... HTH

Here's what we are doing this year.

Looks perfect for my group of 2 and under kids - without a lot of mess/clean up.

We always do the same. A picture frame that they paint and then a hand print in the frame that was made with crayola model magic. The parents love it.I have most of my kids for 4 years so you can really see the growth. This is the only "keepsake" handprint I do all year.

How does the crayola model magic work? I've never used it.

I'm not that savvy on Pinterest yet. Can someone tell me what to search for to find parent gifts?

You can just do a search for whatyou are looking for. Sometimes I find more ideas when I'm looking at a pin and that person has a whole board full of what I'm looking for.

Here is a search result for parent gifts christmas:

It air drys like clay but very light in weight so if the parents want to hang the hand prints on the wall they can. I get mine at michaels but I have seen it at Target. I'm sure Walmart would have it too.
