    Summer vacations......

.......what are your plans for this year?

I don't have any as I was supposed to fly to Texas last Sat and drive back to CA with my sister. We were going to see the bats in Austin, and the Alamo and Riverwalk in San Antonio. I hurt my knee 2 weeks earlier and had to cancel my plane tickets. My daughter went in my place. I call her a couple of times a day to see how I am enjoying my vacation.

awwww, that is too bad. I hope your daughter is enjoying your vacation.

I take the week of the 4th of July off and my DH and I go out on our houseboat and park on an island with a huge group of other houseboaters and enjoy ourselves!! We go rain or shine since that is the beauty of having a houseboat. Actually, when I really think about it some of the best times we have had on the lake have been when the weather is yucky.

Last year my DH and I took 12 days and drove from our house in northern Mn to Los Angeles, CA. Stopped at the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Vegas along the way. We had the best road trip together ever! We listened to Sirius/XM radio's comedy channel the whole way and laughed until we cried. That is the first real trip we have ever taken alone. (we've been together over 23 years).

I hope you will get a chance to take a real vacation again soon! Is your knee feeling better? I hope you took some time off of daycare so you could at least get a break from that since you couldn't go on your planned vacation.......((((hugs))))

What I wouldn't give to own a houseboat again! We've owned 2 different ones.

I'm heading to northern MN Saturday at 5am for my vacation. I don't suppose the Sirius/XM Comedy will be too funny at that time of day but definitely a good tip if the drive gets boring.

I posted in the other thread to your comment about Northern MN because being from Northern MN, Mille Lacs isn't northern but central but I was just giving you a hard time.........but I suppose it is northern to you though huh?!? LOL!! (haha, I just read the other post and your response!) Crosby is so NOT northern! But that is funny!!!

Actually, if you tune into the Sirius/XM comedy channel at the butt crackof dawn it is the dirtiest (but funniest!) The Canadian channel is waaaay funnier than Laugh USA. And I suppose you can't very well play the dirty comedy channel if you have little ears listening. Darn...because it is REALLY funny!!

Yeah, I don't think I could live without the houseboat! It is soooo much fun!! I cannot dirve it though because it is way to big so I leave that part to my DH. Why did you guys sell yours?
